Toronto, Canada (09 September, 2026) – Teva Canada Limited, in consultation with Health Canada, is initiating a nationwide voluntary Type I Patient (Consumer)-level recall of one (1) lot of the over-the-counter (OTC) drug Novo-Gesic Forte 500 mg, 1000 Caplets, due to the potential presence of a foreign matter in the affected lot. Although Novo-Gesic Forte is classified as an over-the-counter drug, the 1,000-count format may be dispensed by a pharmacist. To date, Teva Canada Limited has not received any reports of adverse events related to the lot being recalled. The recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure.

Consumers who have purchased Novo-Gesic 500 mg caplets are advised to check the lot number and expiry date on the product label.
If your product matches the affected lot numbers listed above:
- Stop using the product.
- Return the product to the pharmacy where it was purchased.
- Speak with your pharmacist about obtaining a replacement product or alternative supply.
If you are unsure whether your product is affected, contact your pharmacist.
Teva Canada Limited is notifying distributors, retailers, and health care professionals of this recall and is facilitating the return of affected product.
Potential Risk
The recalled lot may contain foreign material. The nature and frequency of the issue are being investigated; however, the presence of foreign material may pose a potential risk to consumers. Out of an abundance of caution, Teva Canada is recalling the affected lot.
As a precautionary measure, consumers who have product from the affected lot should follow the instructions above and consult their pharmacist or healthcare provider if they have questions or concerns.
