Cherry-flavoured Citro-Mag® is a laxative-purgative.

Dosage/Directions for Use

LAXATIVE: Adults: 1/4 to 1/2 bottle.

PURGATIVE AND PREPARATION FOR RADIOGRAPHY:

Adults: 1 bottle.

Children: 12.5 kg (27.5 lb) 60 mL, 25 kg (55 lb) 100 mL, 30 kg (66 lb) 150 mL, 35 kg (77 lb) 200 mL.

Important: Drink a 250-mL glass of water each hour for 4 to 6 hours before and 3 hours after taking Citro-Mag®.


Storage

Store this product at room temperature.

KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.


Ingredients

Each 300 mL of this oral solution contains: 15 g of magnesium citrate anhydrous.

Non-medicinal ingredients: Artificial and natural flavouring, purified water, sodium benzoate, sodium bicarbonate and sorbitol.


Precautions

Do not use if seal is broken.

Use only as directed.

Do not use in the presence of undiagnosed abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting.

Rectal bleeding or failure to respond may indicate a serious condition. Consult a physician.

Persons on a low-sodium diet or who have impaired renal function should avoid use of this product unless directed by a physician.

Use of the product may result in abdominal cramping or nausea.

Repeated or prolonged use may result in habituation or dependence on laxatives for bodily function. Do not take any type of laxative for more than one (1) week, unless your physician has ordered a special schedule for you.

A laxative should not be taken within two (2) hours of another medicine because the desired effect of the other medicine may be reduced.

This preparation should only be used as a purgative upon the recommendation of a physician when preparing the patient for a medical procedure necessitating a clear colon.

Note: Occasional presence of white precipitation at bottom of solution does not alter potency of product.
